Phulchowki Hike is also known as the ‘Godawari’ or ‘Godavari’ hike, literally meaning ‘Hills of Flowers’. Phulchowki Hike is one of the best hiking trails around Kathmandu city which is also known as the hills of flowers due to its varied vegetation.
It is just 14 km southeast of the main city of Kathmandu with an elevation of 2782 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest hiking hills around the Kathmandu Valley. Filled with different vegetation, culture, and religion, the trail is far away from city dwellers but rich with nature and local lifestyle.
Moreover, the trail is tranquil for solitude lovers; it is surrounded by dense forests and wildlife. The trail is filled with different flora and fauna from rhododendrons to oak and pine and different species of birds and butterflies make the Phulchowki Hill their abode.
