This 10-Day Everest Base Camp Short Trek is a well-designed package for trekkers who are restricted by time frame. This is a normal way of hiking for just 6 Hours every day with frequent stops. As overnight camps are lower in terms of altitude, trekkers will not have a problem acclimatizing themselves.
Every day, upon reaching the overnight camp, you will be escorted by your guide to hike some 100 meters for acclimatizing, and spending an hour at such an altitude will benefit you. Finally, descend to the camp for the night stay. The basic principle for the high-altitude trek is to hike higher and sleep lower.

How Is Accommodation During The Everest Base Camp Short Trek?
Short Everest Base Camp Trek is more luxurious in terms of accommodation compared to other trekking areas of Nepal. Due to its popularity thousands of trekkers visit the Everest region. Thus, the number and standard of tea houses are increasing.
Although there are strict restrictions by the local government in the construction of the tea houses to preserve its ecology, So early booking is a must-do for the Everest trek.
Throughout the trek, you will be staying in a local tea house, which is far more comfortable. Some of the tea houses at the lower altitude will have attached toilets inside the room and more with common toilets as you ascend higher.
On each floor, there will be a toilet and bathroom which need to be shared, make sure you have your toilet paper to use. Each room will have two separate beds with a tick mattress, pillow, blanket, bed sheet (each), and a tea table.

How Is The Trekking Route During the Short Everest- Kalapatthar Trek?
Due to the popularity of the Everest region, thousands of trekkers visit these areas every year. Thus, the trail remains busy mainly during Spring and Autumn.
Apart from all this, the local government frequently maintains the trekking trail and they make sure those are safe and sound for the trekkers.
At the lower altitude, you will be able to see a signboard stating the trail location. However, at a higher altitude, this might not be seen.
Trails are clean and well maintained with stone slabs in many places, suspension bridges to cross the river, and wooden bridges to cross the stream.

10 Days Short Everest Base Camp Trek Cost 2026 Itinerary
Day 1 Kathmandu to Lukla (Flight) 2,840 m (9,318Ft) and Trek to Phakding 2,610 m (8,563Ft)
Start with a scenic flight with the Himalayan vista, you will land at Lukla Airport one of the most fascinating airports. With some refreshment and a panoramic view, you will descend through the lush green forest, and farmland, and towards the Sherpa village Phakding.
Overnight in Phakding
Day 2 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,446M (11,306Ft)
Passing by cascading waterfalls through the forest, you will cross a suspension bridge over the DudhKoshi River and reach Monjo.
Heading further you will enter the point of Sagarmatha National Park which is the UNESCO Natural Heritage Site entry point.
Hiking further uphill through the forest the first view of Mount Everest can be explored. With the view of the Himalayas, you will reach Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Everest region.
Overnight at Namche Bazaar
Day 3 Trek to Pangbuche 3,985 m (13,074 ft)
This is our third day of the trek, today we will be trekking into the Himalayas. Climbing uphill, passing by Namche Bazaar we will be able to see the panoramic views of the Himalayas and the Namche village downhill.
Further, our trek continues towards a small village called Tengbuche, here we will visit the famous monastery and descend downhill through the pine forest to Pangbuche.
Pangbuche is a small village with some tea houses and is the place where the trail diverts towards Mount Ama Dablam.

Day 4 Trek to Dingbuche 4,410 m (14,469 ft)
Passing by Debuche village through the rhododendron forest our trail ascends uphill. With some descend, hike uphill through the chorten, prayer wheel, and open grazing area to reach Dingbuche.
Dingbuche is a popular acclimatizing village inhabited by the Sherpa community. From this place, we will be able to have a magnificent view of Mount Lhotse (8,501M)
Overnight in Dingbuche
Day 5 Trek to Lobuche 4,910 m (16,109 Ft)
This will be our toughest climb to Lobuche. Our trek will be mainly uphill but ata slow pace. We will pass by the prayer flag and prayer wheel and a chorten to enter through the rugged mountain.
Due to the high altitude, there will not be much vegetation to explore but the view will be far-sighted, we will enter into the Khumbu glacier, passing by the open grazing area of the Yak and finally to Lobuche.

Day 6 Trek to Gorakshep and Detour to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m (17,598 Ft)
Our last day to the highest altitude in Gorakshep will start with an uphill climb. This will be through the majestic view of the Himalayas and finally to Gorakshep for our lunch.
After taking a short break and rest we will backpack with a water bottle and our day tour to Everest Base Camp begins.
With a 2-hour hike we will reach Base Camp and have a picturesque view of the Himalayas and explore the base camp of the highest mount finally to our destination we descend to Gorakshep.
Overnight at Gorakshep
Day 7 Hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m (18,192 Ft) and descend to Pheriche 4,371 m(14,340 Ft)
Early morning, we will hike towards Kalapatthar for the magnificent picturesque view of the wide Himalayan range including Mount Everest.
However, the sunrise view of the Himalayas will be once in a lifetime experience. We will descend towards Grorakshep for our breakfast and descend towards Lobuche.
From Lobuche, our route will divert towards Pheriche.

Day 8 Descend to Namche Bazaar 3,440 meters (11,286 feet)
Passing by the prayer wheel in a moraine, we will descend through the pine forest to reach Tengbuche. As we descend we will encounter more greenery and villages on the way and finally to Namche Bazaar.

Day 9 Descend to Lukla- Tenzing Hillary Airport 2,840 m (9,318 Ft)
Following the same trail, we will descend from Namche Bazaar bidding farewell to Mount Everest. Hiking through the lush green forest we will reach Monjocheckpoint and descend through the suspension bridge to reach Phakding for our lunch.
Our hike continues through Sherpa villages and farmland to reach Lukla. Here you can have the last party at the Himalayas. Thanking all our trekking staff we will spend overnight.

Day 10 Flight to Kathmandu 1350M (4430Ft)
Take an early morning flight to Lukla with the majestic Himalayan view. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, we will transfer to your respective hotel and our trip ends by bidding farewell to your guide.

- Although this is a 10-day trek, you will be hiking for 9- days only the last day will be a short flight to Kathmandu from Lukla
